I'm happy to see Bill Parcells is coming back to the NFL. He's one of the greatest coaches the league has known. More talent in the mix is definitely a good thing. Plus, the potential for interesting, controversial, stupid stories coming out of Dallas only increases. Putting Parcells' need for control alongside Jerry Jones' ego is just asking for trouble. Maybe Jerry has learned a few things since he forced out Jimmy Johnson, but we'll see. Controversy involving a team I'm not rooting for is almost always a good thing. I guess that ideally Jones will be better than he used to be, but will still cause a few problems, enough to keep us entertained.
I like what the Red Sox have done this offseason, so far anyway. Nothing major, just solid improvements in some key spots. I do wish they had been able to keep Cliff Floyd, or at least Brian Daubach, but I understand why they did not. I'm fairly optimistic about 2003. It could be the year (yes, I will never learn my lesson that the Sox will always disappoint. The Patriots didn't help this affliction any by bucking history last season.).
I'm also happy about the Celtics new ownership group officially taking over control of the team. Paul Gaston sucked. Good riddance. Two years ago Rick Pitino coached his final Celtics game on my birthday. I'll consider getting rid of Gaston to be this year's present. Maybe they'll be able to jettison Vin Baker for my next one.
Alright, I got about three hours of sleep last night, so that's all for now.
