Michael Kinsley writes a great piece on affirmative action. He doesn't even take a position on what the correct policy should be, and I'm sure we disagree on that, but reading this will wash out the junk from your arguments.
I can't decide if I like Howard Dean or not (I definitely don't like him in a "I think he's great" way, but maybe in a "he's not bad" way), but don't dismiss him. I think he brings a lot to the table. He could turn into another McGovern like some say, but he also could be a Carter/Clinton mixture.
