There was a recent study purporting to show how much the disparity between rich and poor grew in the 90's. Thomas Sowell does a nice job of showing most of the basic errors that taint the study.

I don't think I could do any better than Horberger in explaining why the right of habeus corpus is vital to our freedoms. When that's taken away, they can take away everything else too, and we're not far off right now from that situation.
The recent controversy over the yellow cake is appropriate. But it is just a part of the big picture. The administration lies constantly. They seem to have perfected the Big Lie technique, wherein what they say is so outrageous most people assume it's true because it isn't believable that they'd lie about something so important. Well, I believe it is going to bring Bush down. We may wind up with a mediocre president in 2004, but he will almost certainly be an improvement over this crap.
Great news everybody! From now on, all Grade A Swiss cheese will need to have the majority of its holes' diameters measure between 3/8 and 13/16 of an inch. I can't believe how long we've let the evil cheese industry oppress us by having some of the holes only 11/16 of an inch. Those bastards. May they all die painful deaths.
